Born and raised in West Virginia, he left home in 1984 and moved to Eastern North Carolina. Even though, he still enjoys the mountains, he says he LOVES the flatlands and tidal regions. That's where he does most of his photography.

He say's, "There's nothing like a trip to Mattamuskeet Lake or the Outer Banks for some interesting pictures."
